The latest turnover survey conducted by the Association of Swiss Electrical Wholesalers (VES) as of the end of September 2022 still gives hope for a good annual result.
All members of the association participated in the survey. Total sales turnover was 8.0% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Against the background of partial supply bottlenecks, price increases have, of course, once again contributed to this positive development.
Consumer prices in Switzerland remained stable in October. Compared to the same month last year, inflation was +3.0%. The unemployment rate remained at 1.9%. Based on a study, the Swiss government announced at the beginning of November that the security of electricity supply in Switzerland in winter 2022/23 would not be seriously endangered, but that supply bottlenecks could not be ruled out.
